Gas
I’d enjoyed working with director Stephen Stewart previously, so it was great to get the call to make this sequence for his stand-up series.
The idea was to introduce the word ‘GAS’ several times throughout the sequence and to ‘go mad’ with the ideas, reflecting the wide range of material in the show.
Stop frame maestro, the splendid Kev Walton (RIP) and his mate Simon Jacques did the move over the corn field, they’d had to lug that little but REALLY heavy iron cooker there. The ice ‘GAS’ (made by Pat Milne) wouldn’t melt, so a blow torch was found to hurry it up, then it was too hot! They were convinced it hadn’t worked, but the reversed frames worked well, so ‘GAS’ magically appears. A fun job that!
